JOIN THE OLIVE BRANCH COMPOSITE SQUADRON!
We are always looking for motivated people to become part of our air crew, ground team and staff. Our squadron is one of the most active operational squadrons in the Mississippi Wing. If you are looking to become part of an active organization that really does make a difference, all you need to do is take the first step.
1. Attend a Meeting The Squadron meets at 7037 Hacks Cross Road in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Our headquarters is in the Holiday Crossing Shopping Center next to the Baptist Rehabilitation Center.
Senior Members meet the first and third Monday of every month at 1900hrs (7:00 pm). Cadets meet every Monday at 1830hrs (6:30 pm).
Visitors and prospective members are always welcome. We highly recommended that you contact us prior to attending a meeting. That way we can verify for you that we are meeting at our headquarters and insure that the meeting is representative of what we do. That way we give you the best possible idea of what to expect when you join.

2. Obtain and complete an application.
- Cadet Member Application Process. The application process for cadet membership is very simple. Applicants must complete the CAP Form 15 - Application for Cadet Membership. An important note on the CAPF 15 is that if any check box on the reverse of the form (medical history information) is marked, a physician's signature is also required. When the form is complete and all required signatures have been obtained, the form is sent to the address on the bottom of page one along with the membership/application fee (2009 cadet membership is $30.00). Applicants can expect their membership card within 2-3 weeks.
- Senior Member Application Process. There are three parts to the application process for senior membership. First, complete the CAP Form 12 - Application for Senior Membership Next, pick up a FBI Fingerprint card from the unit. Take this card to a police station or sheriff's office where a representative of that office can complete the form. Submit the CAPF 12, Fingerprint Card, and the initial membership fee (2009 Senior Membership is $72.00) to the address on the CAPF 12. A Temporary membership is approved within 1-2 weeks. When the FBI background check has cleared, a new ID card will be sent to you removing the temporary status.
3. Common Questions.
Q:. I'm not a pilot. Can I still join?
A: Absolutely! CAP offers many avenues of volunteer service. Special skill sets are always needed including legal services, public relations, personnel and administration. Volunteers who serve the squadron through community outreach, media relations and administrative responsibilities are just as important as the crews that fly the airplanes.CAP's professional development program and emergency services operations afford non-pilots a plehtora of training opprotunities and duty positons.
Q: By joining CAP, do I become a member of the military?
A: No. While CAP is the official auxilliary of the U.S. Air Force and as such follows its military based customs, courtesies, and organizational structure, members are not military themselves and do not incur any type of military obligation.
Q: Are there membership dues?
A: Yes. A member's first year is covered by the fee sent in when they apply. Annual national membership renewal is $30.00 for Cadets and $62.00 for Seniors Members. At this time there are no Squadron dues.
